Sleeping Situation is a podcast by Ivy and Matt that’s full of fun facts, utter nonsense, and opinions you never asked for. During each episode, we catch you up on what’s going on in our lives as a couple that lives together (along with our soon-to-be famous cat, Rey). Once we get that out of the way, we might review an album, concert, movie, or something else we’ve been into lately. We also feature a segment in each episode where we play one of our trademark games, including Top 5, Movie Recast, our version of the Newlywed Game, and more. The best way to get to know us is to listen to an episode (or five), but here’s a little more about who the heck we are.

Ivy

Ivy is a walking encyclopedia of Spongebob Squarepants quotes, so expect to hear a few in every episode. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 2016 and works as a content journalist for a marketing agency. She likes writing comedy but sucks at improv, and she likes writing YA fiction but reads Shakespeare and Poe, too. One day, mark her words, she’ll publish a book. She likes tattoos, playing weird instruments, and the oxford comma.

Matt

Matt doesn’t like website bios with his picture beside them. His time is spent almost exclusively sleeping or eating cookies, although he does often make time to write music he is self-conscious about letting other people hear. He also does not like long walks on the beach because he is afraid of crabs, jellyfish, and sunburns. His hobbies include collecting vinyl records and guitars. His favorite person is Rey.

Rey

Rey is a rescue cat from the Humane Society. When Matt and Ivy went to pick out a furry friend, she hopped up into Matt’s lap and refused to move until they agreed to adopt her. Her favorite activities are snoozing, getting butt scritches, and screaming. Her favorite toy is a pink shoestring affectionately known as “String.” She hates car rides, tin foil, and whooshing sounds. She is very curious, very vocal, and very snuggly.
